DAN DEZWAAN has been the elementary music specialist for first thru third graders in the Allendale public schools since 1999. He has a bachelors degree from Dordt College (Iowa) and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Anderson University, where he also completed his three levels of Orff Certification. When he’s not teaching, Dan enjoys gardening, traveling and going to various performances with his family.

ANN ARMBRUSTER taught elementary music in southwest Michigan for 9 years. She is currently a stay at home parent. Ann received her Bachelor of Music in music education from Alma College in Alma, MI and her Master of Music in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. She has been attending WMOC workshops since 2010 and values the content and connections nurtured there. Ann is a cellist with the Kalamazoo Philharmonia and is a wedding musician. She resides in Kalamazoo with her husband and two daughters.

TAMI NELSON teaches Young Fives through 2nd Grade Music at Godfrey-Lee Public Schools inWyoming, MI and is the handbell director at Grandville United Methodist Church in Grandville, MI. She has taught K-2 music for 21 years. She has also taught 7th and 8th grade choir and 6th Grade Music at Godfrey-Lee and 4th-8th Grade band at a small Catholic School through the shared time program. Tami received her Bachelor’s of Music Education Degree from Grove City College in Pennsylvania in 1997 and her Master’s of Music Education degree from The University of Kansas in 1999. Tami and her husband, Carl, celebrated 22 years of marriage this June and have one daughter, Adrianna who plays violin, sings, and is active in theatre. Tami has served as the treasurer of WMOC since 2008 and she has learned a lot about teaching music by attending the WMOC workshops. She received her Level 1 Orff training from Anderson University in 2008 and attended her first AOSA national conference in November 2012. She hopes to continue learning a lot more about the Orff process from her involvement with WMOC.

Sarah Graham teaches PreK through 6th Grade at Three Oaks Public School Academy in
Muskegon, Michigan. She originally taught at the secondary level in Elfrida, Arizona for 11 years before moving back to Michigan to pursue teaching elementary music. She has taught elementary music for the past two years in the Muskegon area. Sarah received her Bachelor’s of Secondary Instrumental Music Education from Alma College in Alma, Michigan and is currently working on her Masters in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University. She joined WMOC two years ago and continues to learn a lot through the workshops the organization offers throughout the school year. When she’s not teaching, Sarah enjoys spending time with her guinea pig, Melody; going to West Michigan Symphony performances and doing anything craft related. |
